We recommend a video length of 8–12 minutes with a loop. Life tribute videos can also be played silently during a memorial or service or reception.
To tell your story, we ask that you gather your photos, audio recordings and archived videos and arrange the in chronological order. This will help us ascertain if there are any gaps or imbalances in your timeline selection.
Photographs will form the foundation of your life tribute video. A selection of approximately 30 – 100 photos (contingent on package selected) featuring you or your loved one at various life stages which will include a range of family, friends, and places.
Video Footage, Recordings, Poems & Prayers
Inevitably, for a Life Tribute, there will be video footage of you or your loved one somewhere. Maybe a birthday or just a family barbecue.
No need to worry about your old VHS, Beta, 8mm, 16mm, or super 8 films as we can convert that into a digital form as well and add a clip to your life tribute video.
Voicemail recordings, meaningful quotes, favorite poems, or comforting prayers can be incorporated into your video.
When considering the music for your video think about tone and emotion. Happy, sad, etc. Due to licensing laws, My Life Video cannot use licensed music in your video. When putting everything together, please keep in mind that the video run time will be around 8-12 minutes, the length of 3-4 songs.
Cards, Letters, Voiceover, Memorabilia
As spouses, parents and grandparents, we collect cards and artwork from our partners and our kids. These items can also be included in your life tribute video to demonstrate how loved and honored you were in life.
Let’s tell your story by using narration. For Pre-planning videos, many of our clients choose to do the narration themselves. After all, who can tell your story better than you?! Others decide on a member of the family designated to present an overview of the person’s life at the funeral service. That same person is a great choice for narration or voice-over for the visual elements of your life tribute video. My Life Video can provide our professional voiceover talent to provide this service as well.
We know that many people have a scrapbook somewhere with some news clippings about themselves. Other people keep memorabilia like athletics trophies. We can film or photograph these things to further personalize your life tribute video. Just let us know what you have to help tell your story.
